Manago Hotel

A true Kama‘aina hotel since 1917.

Clean, simple and affordable hotel accommodations for travelers and visitors to the Big Island Hawaii

On March 21, 2020, Hawaii Gov. David Ige announced a mandatory 14—day quarantine for visitors and returning residents arriving in Hawaii.  This mandate will go into effect on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. until further notice.  Visitors must remain in their designated quarantine location for a period of 14 days or the duration of their stay in Hawaii, whichever is shorter, at their own expense. They may leave their designated quarantine location only for medical emergencies or to seek medical care.

If you have an arrival date scheduled for on or after the start of the quarantine, it is our recommendation that you postpone your trip until the mandate is lifted. Check back with us here.

Manago Hotel is located in Captain Cook Town on the slopes of Mauna Loa at an elevation of 1,350 ft. It overlooks the beautiful Kealakekua Bay, and the ancient Hawaiian Place of Refuge in Honaunau. This is an ideal location with cool, quiet nights and sunny days, where travelers can relax and sleep comfortably. The photo below is a typical ocean view from one of our private rooms with a balcony.
